Living Like Rocco: Embracing Love, Resilience, and Maximizing Life Enjoyment
I was just getting to know Sarah and loved any amount of time I got to spend in her space while always learning something from her. Her big smile and chill vibe always made me feel so comfortable and loved for who I am and where I am. No judgement at all. Ever.
I knew Sarah had an amazing story to tell, one with so much struggle and many challenges that she had overcome. She was just so brave and strong. She was and will continue to be a role model for me and so many.
I loved following along on all of her journeys- physical feats and amazing travels. She lived and showed the world what it looks like to REALLY live, to be a focused business owner and to be an amazing mother.
On November 29, 2023, Sarah was so gracious to share her valuable time with me and a group of agents. After the group call, I got her to myself in a candid conversation. She was open, transparent and vulnerable. I knew her back story, as I was in the room when she shared it from the stage, and my heart always ached for her struggles, but absolutely cheered for all of her growth and perseverance.
Our girl group was just getting to know her and from the start she was open, honest and vulnerable. She fit right in and made us all want to be better. She got raw and real as she read her 10 year letter to us. We all attentively followed along with her future story telling, as we just knew she would make all of those dreams come true.
On Friday, December 8, 2023, we hopped on a Zoom together. The goal was to catch up and stay connected, and to plan our future book club. We were to read Die with Zero, by Bill Perkins, and many of us had already started it. In that call, Sarah shared some beautiful insights and words of inspiration with us. Specifically she said that she has learned that sometimes you just have to "Open your hands and let go of what you cannot control." She was in such a beautiful place and was such a bright light for all who had the opportunity to know her.
Sunday morning, December 10, 2023 at 9:17 am EST, she sent our group chat a text. She was smiling, holding up the Die with Zero book, while they were all heading to Universal as a family. It was a last minute trip that she said her old self would have cringed at the cost of the tickets. Instead, she added the hashtag "#maximizinglifeenjoyment" and every single one of us LOVED it.
Ugh. So many hearts are hurting from this loss. It just really, really sucks. However, there is a bright light that still shines for her and it can be inside of each of us. We must remember to #LiveLikeRocco every single day. That is how we will best honor her and allow her spirit to continue to inspire and make an impact.
Please enjoy this value packed and personal interview with Sarah that was recorded on November 29, 2023.
